Introduced by Emilio Ortega in the early 1900s near Anaheim, California. Very popular in Mexican dishes of all types, especially chile rellenos. Used extensively for ristras and for grinding into powder. Typical fruits are 6″ long.
Traditionally these hot peppers were used in oyster and crab houses.
The Orange Bell Pepper is a real beauty that’s excellent for fresh eating, canning or freezing. It also has a great sweet flavor.
