Golden Bantam corn is a yellow corn variety that produces ears of corn loaded with 8-10 rows of sweet, plump kernels. This corn has been the home gardener’s choice since the beginning of the 20th century.
If you can grow it in Minnesota, you can grow it almost anywhere! This is an exceptionally well adapted Northern grown variety of miniature popcorn. One of the best corn for popping, but also great for autumn decorations.
A real old-timer, well adapted to Southern heat and soils, vigorous 8-10′ tall plants, 9-10″ ears, 16 rows. Protein content can be up to 10%. Developed by James L. Reid in northern Illinois, from material his father brought from Ohio in 1846.
