Beautiful, thick green leaves tinged with red. Used as a loose leaf variety.
Widely cultivated in Holland during the 17th century. Eventually it was brought to Waterloo County, Ontario in 1799 by Mennonite immigrant Urias Martin. Used as a loose leaf variety. Some compare the flavor of this variety to watercress. Beautiful, thick green leaves tinged with red.
